Grants are given to students based on financial need. Typically these grants are for U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens only.

Other grants are given to students based on merit. This means that the student might have to perform some type of research, work or volunteer project in order to receive the grant. These grants are available for U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens and sometimes international students.
