Academic Studies for Deaf Adults (ASDA) Math Literacy Program
The ASDA Math Program offers 3 levels of mat clasess that are designed to help you practice your computational skills using a variety of mathematical problems that can be applied in the work world or as preparation for the GED math exam. The program requuires placement testing prior to registration for an appropriate level. Courses of ASDA Program include:
1. Academic Studies for Deaf Adults: Math Level 1
ASDA Math level 1 (formerly ASDA Level II Math A&B), the first of three levels, focuses on Basic Mathematics: addition and substraction of whole numbers, multiplication and division of whole numbers and word problems.
2. Academic Studies for Deaf Adults: Math Level 2
ASDA Math Level 2 (formerly ASDA Level IV Math A&B), the second of three levels, focuses on Pre-GED Mathematics: decimals, fractions, percents, introduction to probability, measurement and word problems.
3. Academic Studies for Deaf Adults: Math Level 3
ASDA Math Level 3 (formerly ASDA Level V Math A,B&C), the third of three levels, focuses on GED Mathematichs: the mathematics of probability, ratio, proportion, percents, measurements, graphs and tables, basic of algebra, geometry, special topics in algebra and geometry, and word problems.
GED Bridge to College for Deaf Adults
For Deaf adults who are able to read and write in English at the seventh grade level, and solve basic Arithmatic functions and word problems. Advance your reading and writing skills in the context of subject areas covered by the GED exam (social studies, science, languange arts, reading, and writing). You will also focus on the following areas of GED Mathematics: probability, ratioand proportion, percents, measurements, graphs and tables, basic of algebra, geometry and word problems.
