Gina Accardi
Cake
Decorating for Beginners
Ms.
Accardi has taught cake and food decorating in adult schools in New
Jersey, from beginning to professional levels. Gina held responsible
positions in nutrition such as Bilingual Nutritionist, Dietitian’s
Assistant and Yale Club’s Pastry Chef Decorator. She has a BA in Human
Ecology (formerly Home economics) from Montclair State University.
Alex O. Aguilar
Interior Design for Small Spaces
Designer Alex Aguilar isa small space consultant with clients throughout the NY metro area. Alejandro and his own Manhattan micropad were featured on “Small Spaces, Big Style” show on Home & Garden Television and write-up in NY Times’ House Proud.
Beth Bailis
Watercolors and Intro to Oil Painting
Beth, MFA City College, NY, BFA Cum Laude, Maryland Institute College of
Art, exhibits throughout New York. She incorporates ceramics in her
well-known Fusion Paintings; several are on permanent exhibit at LaGuardia
Community College. She teaches watercolors and oil painting at LaGuardia,
and mixed media at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. She is a member of
National Society of Mural Painters. Beth has another degree in Theatre and
does performance art.
SAL ESCOTT
Dance: Ballroom, Club and Advanced Social Dance
Sal Escott, has been teaching dance since 1983. Mr. Escott was introduced to dance as a child. His father, Val Escott, was a leader in the field of Ballroom and Latin dancing and served as president of two of the top dance teacher organizations in the country. He taught his son the “family business” from the ground up. Mr. Escott received his Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from CUNY. He majored in education and political science and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Education.
ANN GEIER
Hatha Yoga
Ann Geier is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor and is registered with the Yoga Alliance. Ann teaches weekly classes and presented a four week course at the Integral Yoga Institute. Her course includes warm-ups, asanas, pranayama, meditation, and deep relaxation.
Carolyn Hearn
T’AI CHI CH’UAN
Carolyn Hearn is the winner of the 2002 Gold medal Push Hands competition and 2002 Bronze medal –Tai Chi sword form.Carolyn Hearn who has practiced T’ai Chi since the mid 70’s studying Wu style form, Sword and Knife forms and Chi Gong with Grand Master Ma Yueh Liang of Shanghai. Since 1996 she has studied Yang style with Grand Master William C. C. Chen, “inside student” of Professor Cheng Man Ch’ing in Taiwan.
Deborah Lynn Kahn
Floral Arrangement
Deborah Lynn Kahn has 20 years originating and teaching
floral arrangement courses that cover the basics and popular floral arrangements at
skill levels only found in professional shops. She has won numerous blue
ribbons and trophies from both the Horticultural Society of NY and
Gramercy Park Flower Shows and has done floral arrangements for Saks Fifth
Avenue, celebrity
luncheons, model apartments and more. Deborah created her own instructional video on Floral
Arranging.
Magdalena Llamas
Joy of Singing
Ms. Llamas (M.M. Granada Conservatory) is a Mezzo soprano from Andalusia, Spain. She performs opera and concerts around US and Europe (Carnegie Hall, Cami Hall, Guggenheim museum, Accademia di Spagna in Roma, Auditorio Nacional, Madrid, Oratorio Gonfalone di Roma…) She teaches voice technique and confidence on stage. She studied at The Juilliard School of Music, Westminster Choir College, Portland Performing Institute, Real Conservatorio superior de Canto, Madrid, and the Real Conservatorio Superior of Granada, Spain. She was awarded the Portland opera Performing Institute Fellowship, The Elsie Hilliard Hillman Fellowship, and Manuel de Falla Festival fellowship. She taught at Jeunesses Musicales International, Spain, San Sebastian Conservatory, Musical director ¨Choir and Orchestra of Almería´s Cathedral¨ Spain, and Accademia Internazionale di musica in Roma, Italy.
David Nadal
Guitar
Guitarist David Nadal performs regularly as a solo classical guitarist as well as in popular and new music settings on the electric guitar. An avid scholar and frequent lecturer on the guitar and its history, David Nadal has published several volumes of arrangements for guitar with Dover Publications. His edition of the complete lute songs of John Dowland (1563-1626) (published in two volumes) has become the definitive source for the repertoire and is used by musicians worldwide. He earned a graduate degree from the School of Music at Yale University and an undergraduate degree from Manhattan School of Music. David maintains a private teaching studio in New York City and is currently Lecturer in Music at LaGuardia Community College.

Nancy Palubniak,
BFA, brings crochet to our offerings. She teaches crochet and embroidery, and photography and fine arts. Through her
Palubniak Studios her clients include Warner Books, St. Martin Press,
Simplicity and McCall Patterns, and Godinger Silver. Friends of City
Center commissioned Nancy for limited edition silkscreen print for Alvin
Ailey Dance Group benefit.
Michael Poast
Art Workshop, Sculpture
Michael Poast,
MFA, MMA, BA, is a visual and musical artist and welded
metal sculptor. He is on faculty at Pratt Institute and St. Johns
University. Taught art at
Westside Y, JASA, Art Student League, and at Educational Alliance. Mr. Poast is exhibited extensively in Metro area and
Mid West, including welded metal sculpture at LaGuardia and at
Queensborough Community Colleges. Created, paints and performs Color Music
notation.

Saroska
is an artist from Madrid, Spain who lives and works in New York City. She
attended Escuela de Artes Aplicadas La Palma, Madrid, The Arts Students
League of New York, and holds an associates in Fine Arts from LaGuardia
Community College. Saroska exhibits her work internationally in galleries
