80 Hour Training |
The Three-Day Initial Taxi Training Course contains 24 hours of instructions over a period of 3 days. The course includes instruction on:

Driver/passenger relations and courtesy.
|
COST: $105 plus $25 fee for TLC testing
DATE: Classes are held every day except Friday
TIME: 9AM - 6PM
TESTING: Fridays from 10 AM-2PM

* In order to obtain a license to drive a medallion taxi, applicants must
successfully complete a 24- or 80-hour course and pass an examination
administered by the TLC in English proficiency and taxi-related subjects.

The Eighty-Hour Initial Taxi Training Course contains 80 hours of instruction over a period of 10 days. The course covers:

Any other material deemed appropriate or relevant by the Commission.

Safety Course |
Defensive Driving
|
The Safety Course is a voluntary 6-hour class that deals with special challenges faced by the Taxi/FHV drivers.
Successful completion of this course certifies drivers and qualifies them for up to fifteen percent (15%) off their insurance. The course covers:

Reducing stress and road rage |
| |

Minimizing chances for having accidents

Skillful defensive driving and

The Defensive Driving Course is a
6-hour class that covers accident prevention and point reduction.
The course was approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and is: |

Commission drivers every 3 years.

Taxi Yoga
|
|
A yoga class specifically designed to deal with the stress
and other health issues of today’s professional driver.
The Taxi Yoga Course is
taught by an instructor with
30 years experience in the taxi
industry and 20 years experience
as a student and teacher of
body disciplines such as Yoga,
Tai Chi and Nei Kung.
He drove
a taxicab in
New York City
for 15 years
and knows the
toll this job can
take on your
body and mind.

Taxi Yoga focuses on:
